The Punjab government will monitor development works worth Rs15 billion allocated to both ministers and members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) in order to ensure transparency. Sources said the government would hold special audit of all the development projects under a separate monitoring plan.

They said the government would spend Rs25 million on the monitoring plan to be conducted through a private firm. The said company would monitor the procedure adopted for awarding of contracts and standard of the material, followed by submission of a report to the Chief Minister.
